The Philadelphia 76ers have multiple options to fill Demetrius Jackson’s two-way contract slot. The best options might be in-house.

For the first time since adding Jimmy Butler, the Philadelphia 76ers made a roster move. The team waived Demetrius Jackson, allowing him to sign a deal in China while opening up another two-way contract slot.

The front office will undoubtedly search beyond the organization, but several members of the Delaware Blue Coats are viable candidates to fill the spot. To a certain extent, they might be better options than Jackson himself.

Given Brand’s familiarity with the Blue Coats and their personnel, he’s likely to give serious consideration toward the team’s best prospects. We’ve already seen flashes from one G-League frequent in Shake Milton. Perhaps it’s time to see how another fairs in the NBA.

In addition to filling a vacant roster spot, the Sixers can also address legitimate needs. With poor depth in the second unit — the defense is especially problematic — bringing in another quality two-way piece could pay dividends, both now and down the road.

Here are some potential in-house candidates.
