Otto Porter is out for what the team is calling a personal reason.

In 20 games this season, Porter is averaging 11.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He is also shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 36.0 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Porter missing the game for “personal” reasons is naturally going to cause a stir since the swingman has been involved in trade rumors lately. The latest speculations have Porter linked to the Sacramento Kings.
The Wizards have started the season 8-13 and there are reports the Washington front office is not opposed to breaking up the team’s core and embarking on a rebuild.
Porter has been with the Wizards since 2013 after being selected by the team with the third overall pick in that year’s draft. The 25-year-old signed a lucrative four-year, $106.5 million deal with the Wizards in the summer of 2017. Washington matched an offer sheet Porter signed with the Brooklyn Nets.
The Wizards are coming off a 125-104 road loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Porter scored just five points in that game and shot 2-of-7 from the field in 24 minutes of action.
